What basic Scrapbook Supplies Do You Need?
I’ve been scrapbooking since I was a kid. My first scrapbook was made with construction paper, Crayola markers, glue sticks and stickers. It’s priceless and I love it. With that being said I have been scrapbooking most of my life for about 20 years. It’s something I enjoy, I’ve tried lots of different techniques and made tons of scrapbook pages through the years. Scrapbooking to me is a part of my life that I love! Putting together paper and stickers to make something memorable brings me so much joy.
I couldn’t do any of it without these basic scrapbook supplies that I always use no matter what. All scrapbookers use these basic materials to create scrapbook pages.
Here is a list of 7 Basic Scrapbook Supplies that are Essential for Scrapbooking
Deluxe Paper Trimmer
A good paper trimmer will help make scrapbooking easier. It’s perfect for cutting paper and photos. WIth the lines and the swing out arm the deluxe paper trimmer cuts up to 15 inches.
Scissors
Scissors are a must for any scrapbooker. Your scissors should be small, no stick and for detailed cutting. Keep them with your scrapbook materials and only use them for scrapbooking.
Variety of Card Stock and Patterned Paper are basic scrapbook supplies that you will need a lot of.
Having card stock in a variety of colors, lets you make so many different page layouts and ideas. Card stock and patterned paper can be used as the base of the page, photo mat, embellishments and designs. My biggest tip that I can give (please please do this) is to choose a paper company and roll with it. Buy all of your card stock and patterned paper from the same company so everything matches. It will save you so much time and make creating your scrapbook pages easier and quicker.
I highly recommend Close to My Heart card stock and patterned paper. All the paper works nicely with cutting and die cut machines. The paper is a heavier weight, cuts clean and it all matches! I’ve used many brands of paper before, but this one is my favorite.
Journaling Pen
Use a pen that won’t fade over time and is safe for the photos. Handwritten journaling is always a nice touch to any scrapbook page.
Stickers and Embellishments
Stickers and embellishments give scrapbook pages that wow factor and are fun to add. These are definitely hard to choose because they are all so cute and versatile. From wood shapes, to confetti, to sayings.
Adhesive Glue and Foam Dots are basic scrapbook supplies you must have!
Eery scrapbooker needs a good adhesive for adding photos, embellishments, paper to a layout. 3D Foam tape or dots adds depth and dimension to your page for all of those add ons.
Mat
Scrapbooking can be messy ( not like painting with your kids messy) and I highly recommend using a Versamat. This will protect your work surface, has a ruler on it. One side is ruled and one side is for stamping.
