Who loves going off into nature and going for a nice hike? It’s something I never did before I had kids, but now it’s something we love to do as a family. The great outdoors and all it holds is a magical place for the kids. It’s also peaceful, calm and beautiful. The wonders of nature never cease to amaze me. Close To My Heart and Cricut have captured this in the complete creativity collection and this outdoors scrapbook layout.
This outdoors scrapbook layout is perfect for camping, hiking, fishing or any day in nature. Just looking at this scrapbook design makes me want to go for a hike (once the weather gets warmer). Just think of any outdoor adventure and this page will work for it.
CTMH Cricut Scrapbook Page
Now this is a premade scrapbook page from Close to My Heart that is already created for you. You have to purchase the Complete Creativity from Close to My Heart and it will download into your Cricut Design Space. Scroll to the bottom of my shop and click the green Cricut button. I’ve written a full guide all about the Complete Creativity Set so you can learn more about it. The collection is totally worth the price and you can make several scrapbook pages all with different themes and styles.
For the adventure scrapbook page, I chose to use the colors that were in the design because it was perfect for nature. The colors can always be changed and so can the type of paper that you use. All the pieces are cut with the Cricut and then you just complete the page. These pages have to be created with the Cricut Explore Air 2 or the Maker because of the size.
Finding the Complete Creativity Scrapbook Collection In Cricut Design Space
To start my outdoors scrapbook layout, I went into Cricut Design Space and opened a new project. Then follow the prompts in the screenshots to find the scrapbook page.
Then use the search bar and type in complete creativity. Click the collection, then the adventure scrapbook page and click insert images.
The outdoors adventure scrapbook page is the right size for a 12×12 scrapbook album. You will need to use a piece of card stock as the base. I went with the white daisy card stock for mine.
Choose all the card stock colors you want to use and click make it. Follow the prompts in Design Space to cut all the pieces for the page. The card stock colors I used are sage, toffee, evergreen, fern, mint, and espresso. If you are not familiar with CTMH card stock, you can buy the individual colors (see the links above) or you can buy a Custom Card Stock Pack of 12 or 24. In the custom packs you choose the colors you would like.
Creating the Great Outdoors Scrapbook Layout
Once everything is cut, it’s time to start preparing the pieces to put the page together. This scrapbook design had some small pieces so take a piercing tool or a pin and remove all of these small pieces.
Now it’s time to start by glueing the pieces together. For example the green on top of the evergreen trees, the heart and the pennants at top. I saved the “adventure” letters for the end and didn’t glue them in the beginning.
When all the pieces are glued together it’s time to start putting the layout together. Start with the starry background and attach it to the base paper. Everyone scrapbooks differently, but I like to lay out all of my pieces to get an idea of where everything goes and how it looks. Sometimes I like to have my laptop right there (as I guide) so I can see the design as I start putting it together.
I started glueing the largest evergreen trees first. Then the white paper that goes over top of them, but leave space at the top to slide in the ends of the trees. Once I had those areas ready, I started adding all the other pieces.
Don’t forget to use 3D foam dots to give your page some dimension. I used the 3D foam dots on the adventure letters, family time, heart, leaves, the brown trees, the tall trees and the arrow.
The hardest part about this page were the letters in adventure. It was hard to get those tiny lines right and to glue them on. That took the longest.
Great Outdoors Scrapbook Layout with Cricut
This page is perfect for any outdoor adventure that your family enjoys. My kids have already talked about what pictures should go on this outdoors scrapbook layout. They were also ready to head to the nature preserve and start taking pictures too. It warms my heart to see how excited they are to cherish our memories in the scrapbook and I know these scrapbook pages will always be cherished.
